The John C. Anderson Apartments (formally Williams Way) is the first East Coast housing project built for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The six-story building contains 56 one-bedroom apartments, community room and courtyard. The façade is mixture of metal panels, Hardie board and Nichiha. This project was tight on space—a crane needed to be placed in the courtyard to erect the building—at one point during construction, there were only inches between the top of the crane and the building structure.
